Where did 2011 go?

Since 2011 is almost over I guess I better catch up on the blog.  It's been a BUSY year.
So, as you know we moved back to the US from England back in Sept of 2010.  We rented a house in Vandenberg Village, CA and started to settle in to California living.  Since then only a few things have changed but the best change was moving out of that house and into a house on Vandenberg AFB.  No crazy landladies and a newer house made all the difference.  So, here's our year in Review in photos!

JANUARY brought my 24th Birthday (HA, wishful thinking), along with a fun trip to the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum.

At SLO Children's Museum

Having fun at SLO Children's Museum

Fun February found us at Fess Parker for an afternoon picnic and then at Whippersnippers in Santa Maria for Chase's first haircut.

1st Haircut -- Before

First Haircut!
Feb. also marked our first TeeBall Season!

We surprised the boys with a trip to see Mickey Mouse in March with the Boatman Family.  What a GREAT time!!

April brought Easter eggs and a work trip for Daddy.
When Matt returned from his trip in May he started tuning up the MG for our rally to Reno!

In June we moved into our house on base and then took off on the Rally to Reno for a MG show.  Accompanied by my parents all the way from Corpus Christi, Tx, we drove to Reno via San Francisco!
Family of 4 in a MG?  Only for photo ops!

July brought some family fun playing in the sprinkler...
...Jack's 5th Birthday and Pirate Party...

...Jack spent a week in mid July at the Challenger Sports British Soccer Camp...
Jack with Coaches Mike and Dave (from Scotland and Wales).
...and to cap off the month we took a day fishing trip to Santa Margarita Lake.

In AUGUST, we started yet another chapter in our lives as our big boy started Kindergarten!  We are very fortunate to live one block away from the best Elementary school in Lompoc and it's right here on base!

Lined up on the Cougar Paws waiting for class to start.

Starting off the day with the Pledge of Allegiance

In September we took a quick trip to Wimberly, Texas for the bi-annual Watson Family reunion.  We hadn't been since before Jack was born!  Best part...Chase got to meet his uncles and aunt!

Also in September, Matt participated in a fundraiser through CrossFit called Fight Gone Bad that benefits the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (www.specialops.org).  This year marked the 6th annual event and more than 2 million dollars was raised and will ensure that some very special kids get to go to college.

The following video focuses on one individual from a CrossFit Box in Texas but sums up this years event very well.

Whew!  Well, I warned y'all that we've had a busy year!  Stayed for our next post with pics from October and November.

We hope that everyone enters the holiday season in good spirits and health and that 2011 as been as good to you all as it was to us.
